Dental Insurance Explained
How does private health insurance work? Private health insurance provides at least partial coverage for private medical services from insurers of your choice. This often eliminates long waits for those who need treatment, giving you peace of mind without disrupting your life. You usually pay a monthly or annual subscription through the insurer of your choice, and the rate depends on a number of factors such as your age, location, how comprehensive your plan is, your lifestyle and medical history. Generally, the more coverage you add to your policy, the more expensive it will be.

The most expensive locations in the UK for new clients seeking an initial consultation were Exeter and Carlisle, where the average was £95. Bristol are ahead of Liverpool and Norwich at £87.
Glasgow is the cheapest place in the UK for a first dental consultation, which usually costs £59. Sometimes there is no other option but to pull a tooth, which is painful and one of the most common procedures people need at the dentist. For this category, non-surgical tooth extraction, we have analyzed very simple and uncomplicated cases. Price does not include pre-departure consultation or x-rays and is for one tooth.
Carlisle is the most expensive place to have a tooth extracted in the UK. This relatively simple procedure will cost you £175! That’s 38% more than the national average of £120 and 82% more than what you’d pay in England’s cheapest place, Glasgow.
